House of Representatives member representing Ihiala Federal Constituency at the Green Chambers of the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Paschal Arinzechukwu Agbodike has extolled the Chaplain of the Anambra State Governor, Rev. Fr. Raphael Onyekwelu for promoting what he described as religious ecumenism and tolerance amongst various denominations of the christiandom.
Agbodike who celebrated the reverend gentleman as he marks his birthday ceremony Sunday 1st June, maintained that the man of God has been a point of contact and unity between every religious sect in Anambra State.
The federal lawmaker stated that with Rev. Fr. Raphael Onyekwelu close to the governor, there would be no lacuna whatever between denominations as every denomination, according to him, work together for the greater good of Anambra State viz Romance Catholics, Anglicans, Pentecostals and a host of other religious beliefs, adding that it is a true testament that he is doing his job very well ensuring that there is no form of prejudice against any denomination.
He also noted that the governor's chaplain has ensured that every religious denomination is recognized at the governor's lodge as they all have particular days in the week they conduct church activities thereby promoting religious ecumenism which he said has never been so since the inception of Anambra State.
Agbodike therefore wished Rev. Fr. Raphael Onyekwelu popularly known as Fr. Ogbuefi long life and more fruitful years ahead as he continues to promote religious tolerance amongst Christians in Anambra State.
