Ejeagha, known for his unique style of transforming Igbo folklore and proverbs into captivating music, died at the 32 Garrison Hospital in Enugu after a prolonged illness.

The news of his passing was confirmed by his eldest son, Emma Ejeagha, who spoke to Vanguard in a telephone conversation. Mike Ejeagha's music dominated Nigerian airwaves in the 1980s, resonating across generations with his distinctive blend of Igbo folk music.

Ejeagha's legacy will be remembered for years to come, and his contributions to Nigerian music will continue to inspire future generations of musicians and music lovers alike. May he rest in peace.
