INAUGURATION OF NDIAKWU COMMUNITY SECURITY POST: A STEP TOWARDS ENHANCED SAFETY

On June 2, 2025, the Ndiakwu Otolo Nnewi Community took a significant step towards enhancing safety and security in their community with the inauguration of a security post. The initiative, dubbed Operations Udo-ga-chi (Agunechemba), aims to prevent and detect crimes, supplement law enforcement, and provide emergency response services. The launch event drew attention to the community's commitment to security and its determination to work with law enforcement agencies.


The inauguration ceremony was graced by prominent community leaders, including Hon. Izuchukwu Nwankwo, National Chairman of Ndiakwu Otolo Nnewi Community, Prince Samben Nwosu, YPP Anambra South Senatorial Candidate, Hon Prince Jude Osumuoh, President General Nzuko-Ora Nnewi, Hon Amaobi Adiwulu, President Otolo Nnewi, among others.

Meanwhile, Hon. Nwankwo praised the Divisional Police Station Otolo, led by CSP Ochogwu Sunday Okpe, and his men for their support and guidance. He emphasized that Ndiakwu Otolo Nnewi is now ranked number one in security in Nnewi, attributing this success to the community's security measures.

The security post is equipped with various tools and equipment to ensure efficient security operations. These include motorcycle bikes for speedy security responses, a shuttle bus for patrols and transportation, security vests, and other specialized equipment. The community's investment in these resources demonstrates its commitment to providing a safe and secure environment for its residents.


The DPO, CSP Ochogwu Sunday Okpe, provided training on arms handling and emphasized the importance of vigilance and adherence to duty protocols. Key guidelines include drivers remaining in their vehicles while on duty, security personnel working in line with their duties and the community's values, and respect for the uniform as a symbol of their oath. These guidelines aim to ensure that the security personnel operate professionally and responsibly.


The inauguration of the Ndiakwu Community security post marks a new era of security in the community. With the support of law enforcement agencies and the community's commitment to security, residents can look forward to a safer and more secure environment. The initiative also serves as a model for other communities to follow, demonstrating the importance of community-led security initiatives and collaboration with law enforcement agencies.
