Police Makes Significant Breakthrough in Murder Case in Anambra


The Anambra State Police Command has made a significant breakthrough in a kidnap and murder case, where they recovered a locally made Beretta pistol, ammunition, and other incriminating items. Acting on credible information from an arrested suspect, Ebuka Orizu, a 26-year-old male currently in custody, police operatives attached to the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) recovered the items in Oba, Idemili South Local Government Area.



The recovered items, the Command's PRO, SP Tochukwu Ikenga  said they include one locally made Beretta pistol, eleven live cartridges, and two laptops. According to the police, the suspect is a member of a criminal gang operating in Oraifite and its environs. Efforts are underway to apprehend other gang members currently at large.


The Anambra State Police Command, under the leadership of CO Orutugu has reiterated its commitment to ensuring public safety and preventing further criminal activities in the state. The command's efforts have led to this significant breakthrough, and it will continue to work tirelessly to bring perpetrators to justice.


The police investigation on the matter is ongoing, and the command is optimistic about solving the case and bringing the perpetrators to book. The recovery of the pistol, ammunition, and laptops is a significant step towards unraveling the mystery surrounding the kidnap and murder case. The police therefore urged anyone with information to come forward and assist in the investigation.
